New Hardwood Floors Update this Older Home in Darien

We installed a new hardwood floor on the first floor of this older home in Darien. They had existing ceramic tile and old hardwood and we replaced it with a wider plank oak and darker stain to give it a newer look. New flooring can give an older home a fresh, updated look! Is this beautiful? When we first set foot in this kitchen, the floor was 15-year-old vinyl with a hole in it. Today, we finished installing this gorgeous, mixed width, hand-scraped hickory hardwood flooring. Looks completely different!

Hickory Hardwood Flooring Installation in Montco

We installed this beautiful hickory hardwood flooring in a local Montco home! Hickory is a unique hardwood species because it has a boldly contrasting grain pattern that gives it a rustic look. This visual style is complemented by the wood’s incredible durability – it ranks 1,820 on the Janka hardness scale! This is pretty impressive for a domestic hardwood, as other similar species like red oak or maple rank closer to 1,200-1,300. These local homeowners will love the durability and unique look of their floors for decades to come.
